OFFICIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROMOTION RULES
1. Eligibility for Promotion: Our scholarship program is open to graduating high school seniors who will enroll in and are accepted into an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational -technical school and to continuing education students who are enrolled into an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school and are members of APCU Center Parc or whose parents, grandparents or legal guardians are members – by the time of entry. APCU Center Parc employees, members of the Board of Directors, volunteers, and each of their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, and siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) and individuals living in the same households of each of these individuals, whether related or not, are not eligible to enter. Applicant’s and guardian's accounts must be in good standing with no delinquent, charged-off loans or credit card accounts, or account overdrafts. Applicant must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater. Only one entry per individual.
2. Promotion Period: Complete applications must be received between January 17, 2025 EST., through April 30, 2025 11:59 EST.
3. Scholarships: A total of Eight (8) scholarships will be awarded for a total of $20,000. Four (4) scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from our membership; Two (2) scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to graduating high school seniors affiliated with a postal-related organization (such as NRLCA, UPMA, APLUS, NAPS, or GAPCC); and Two (2) scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to applicants continuing their education and enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school with at least 24 credit hours. Scholarships are not transferable.
4. Entry Methods: All applicants must complete our online form and upload or mail the following additional documents:
- High school and/or college transcript(s),
- Resume to include list of extracurricular activities, honors, awards, volunteer/work experience etc.,
- Letter of recommendation from a non-relative and
- Essay that contains a minimum of 400 words answering the following question: Identifying Community Needs for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation: As you reflect on your experiences and aspirations, consider the following prompt related to entrepreneurship, business, and financial strategy. Describe a business idea you would develop to address a specific need in your local community. How would you identify the problem, design your solution, and implement your business plan to ensure sustainability and growth? Consider the financial aspects of your business idea, such as initial costs, revenue models, and potential challenges.

5. You agree that entry into the Promotion did not induce you to become a member of the Credit Union or obtain an account with the Credit Union during the Promotion period.
6. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
7. Applicant is required to have a parent or guardian sign a Release Form if the applicant is under the age of 18. Applicant agrees to have a photograph taken for use in credit union publications and agrees APCU Center Parc may use their name and essay for any credit union publication.
8. Release of Claims: All winners or businesses, members of any winner’s household, relatives and persons who use any scholarship awarded by the Credit Union, and such person’s heirs, assigns, executors, and administrators release and exempt the Credit Union and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all claims, actions, demands, choses in action and damages which they have now or any time in the future arising from use of any scholarship, including personal injury or death.
9. Winner(s) Selection: Winners will be selected by a judging panel in early to mid-May 2025. Winners will be chosen based on their academic performance, extracurricular and community involvement and essay. Winners will be notified no later than May 23, 2025 via email. Odds of being selected depend on the number of applicants, which may be substantial.
